She was born September 14, 1950, in Point Pleasant Borough, Ocean County, NJ, the daughter of the late George William and Ruth Jean Fette Gaffney. She grew up in the Sweetlips Community of Chester County and was 1969 graduated of Chester County High School.
She did factory work at Quaker Oats and later at Bendix for over twenty years. Then at Berry Plastics for a time retiring in 2015.
She married Douglas Johnson on August 9, 1975. They made their home in Chester County.
She really enjoyed fishing and keeping up with her children and grandchildren.
She was a member of Grace Baptist Church.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by her husband, Douglas Allen Johnson of Henderson; a daughter, Sherrell Bostic of Henderson; five grandchildren; two brothers, George Edward ‘Butch’ Gaffney (Lucy) of Henderson and Don Lee Gaffney of Enville, and two sisters, Ruth Jean Weaver of Enville, and Gail Jane Bell of Henderson.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Douglas Allen Johnson, II on June 21, 2019.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday, March 25th at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue Chapel with Bro. Danny Ray officiating. Burial will follow at Mifflin Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Sunday.
