Donna Jo Sorensen (Jody), precious mother to Donald Kirk Sorensen, Kristy Howell (Danny), Kimberly Tralongo (Pat), passed away January 8, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family.Jody was born in Canton, Illinois March 22, 1942 to Anna Leigh and Floyd Earl Wolf. She raised her family in Washington, Illinois and moved to Huntsville, Alabama in 2010 to enjoy her grandchildren.
Jody was known for her unwavering Christian faith, infectious smile, grand parties, her heart for others, and her passion for Mission Firefly. Jody loved numbers and spent many years working in banking and as a bookkeeper. She later became a nanny for several families helping with children and then later in life sitting with elderly patients in their final days. Jody was a competitive bridge player and loved cooking for her family and others. She was known for her Angel Food Cake and her Chicken & Noodles.
Jody is survived by her three children, her brother Warren Wolf (Alison) and 5 grandchildren, Logan Howell (Heather), Sam Tralongo (Mary), Alison, LeighAnna and Luke Tralongo.
In true Jody fashion, a Celebration of Life will be held on March 23, 2024 at 12:00pm at the Roto-Rooter Event Center, 1435 Paramount Drive Huntsville. A graveside service will be held at a later date in Canton, Illinois.
