Donna Gail Hayes, 70, of Florence, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2023, after a brief illness, surrounded by her loving family and friends.  Donna Gail was a 1970 graduate of Rogers High School and a member of Mars Hill Church of Christ.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Terry Hayes, her parents, Don and Opal Medley, and her sister, Rhonda Hayes.

Survivors include her children, Sabrina Davis (Harry Smith), Ashley Bunch (Robbie) and Justin Hayes (Betsy); grandchildren, Will Davis, Preslie and Jackson Bunch, and Saylor and Davie Hayes; sister, Linda Quillen (James), brothers, Jimmy Medley (Donna), Randy Medley (Cheryl), Keith Medley (Kim); aunts, Ruby Hamner and Alma Butler; all of Florence, Alabama.  She is further survived by eight nieces and nephews and sixteen great nieces and nephews.

Donna Gail devoted her life to her family and grandchildren.  She loved to travel and was willing to take trips on a moment’s notice, so much so, that she was affectionately called by her grandchildren “Go-Go” and “Duh”.  Her home was known for being a welcoming gathering place of her children and grandchildren’s friends, as she made all to feel loved and special.  Donna will be remembered by her selflessness, embracing life to the fullest and loving people.  She would end all conversations with “I love you”, to which one would naturally respond, “I love you”, to which she would have the last “I love you”.  She spent her last Sunday at the beach watching the sun rise over the ocean and enjoying her online worship service.  She described how happy she was and that “it was Heaven on earth”….now she knows Heaven.  Donna Gail will be missed by all.

Pallbearers are nephews Jay Quillen, Joe Quillen, Lee Medley, Rob Hayes, John Medley and dear family friend, Adam Burchell.  Honorary Pallbearers are all those she took in and made to feel like family.

Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, April 8, 2023, from 12:00-2:00 at Mt. Zion Church of Christ with burial to follow at the Mt. Zion Cemetery.  Officiating will be Chris Moran, Sonny Owens, and Matt Burgess.
