Donna Faye Hedges entered her heavenly home on Friday, January 27, 2023, at Methodist Hospital Germantown, at the age of 75.
Born on February 21, 1947, in Campbellsville, KY, she was the daughter of the late Walter Thomas Wayne and Sarah Lee Page Wayne. Graduating with her bachelor’s degree from Campbellsville University, she spent her working career as a church secretary and English teacher before moving to West Tennessee in the early 2000’s.
She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, who enjoyed cooking for her family, especially her special recipe of Chicken and Dumplings or her son-in-law’s favorite, Macaroni salad. Devoted members of West Jackson Baptist Church, the Hedges attended the Legacy Sunday School class.
Donna is survived by her husband of fifty-one years, Walter Hedges of Jackson, TN; daughter, Denean Hendren and husband Seth of Medina, TN, and three grandchildren, MaKenzie Hendren, Michael Hendren and Will Hendren, also of Medina, TN.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Merlin Thomas Wayne.
SERVICES: A funeral service for Donna will be held Monday, January 30, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors, with Bro. Rick Shannon officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens. The family will be receiving friends from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be family members, Seth Hendren, Michael Hendren, Britt Hendren and Ken Hickman.
