Donna Denise Franklin Barber, age 67, passed away on Monday at her home in Cedar Grove. She was born November 6, 1956 in Lexington to Ella Marie Barr Franklin and the late Edward Powell Franklin Sr. She was a member of Center Ridge Methodist Church and worked for over 40 years as a Registered Nurse, having graduated from Hiwassee College and Union University. Her favorite times were those spent with her girls in the Florida Keys. She enjoyed making crafts, walking around her parents’ land and learning as much as she could about the world the Lord created for us.
Survivors include her mother, Ella Marie Barr Franklin; 2 daughters, Heather Bartlett (Kurt) and Marlena Rose (Scott); her brother, Powell Franklin, Jr. (Jennifer); 3 sisters, Terry Townsend(the late Barry), Tracye Maness, and Holly Stewart; and four grandchildren, Alice Rose, Farren Bartlett, Emerson Bartlett, and Jesse Rose.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Cinda Stegall.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 PM, Thursday, July 11, 2024 at Center Ridge Methodist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Center Ridge Methodist Church on Thursday from 11 AM until 2 PM.
