Mr. Dondi Lynne Donegan aka “Wild Man”, 61 of Harvest, Alabama fell asleep in death peacefully in his home on Saturday, April 8, 2023.
Dondi attended Sparkman High School – Class of ’79 – where he was a standout football player and given the nickname Wild Man by his teammates. He was a loving husband and supportive step-father. A devoted servant of Jehovah God whom he dedicated his life to on May 29,1982.
He would marry his loving and devoted wife Janice Dixon Garner on August 6, 2010, becoming a supportive step-father to her sons.
Dondi was charismatic and had a smile that lit up a room. He was known for being a “jokester”and he affectionately gave nicknames to any kid that crossed his path. His stand out stories would always make you smile ending with a room full of laughter. He never met a stranger and always provided assistance to those in need. He brought so much joy to others with his humorous banter.
Some of his favorite things were bowling, fishing, playing Spades and traveling with his wife and extended family.
He is survived by a beautiful and devoted wife, Janice Dixon Donegan; two stepsons, Jaryl Lee Barley and Damian Todd Garner; eight brothers, Allen A. Donegan Jr., John (Betty Jean) Donegan, Kennie Donegan, Emanuel Douglas III, Lorenzo (Connie) Massey, Wayne Garner, Clifford (Delvia) Hughes, and James (Yulanda) Garner; six sisters, Shirley (Roosevelt) Hawk, Yvonne Fletcher, and Betty Lawler, all of Huntsville, Alabama; Brenda (Charlie) Crutcher and Regina (Isaac) McKinney of New Market, Alabama and Patricia Gibson of Leesville, Louisiana; mother-in-law, Sarah L. Dixon; father-in-law, Roosevelt Summers and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
There will be no Visitation held. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at 1:30 pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses located at 7757 Wall Triana Hwy, Harvest, Alabama 35749.
He is preceded in death by one sister: Mildred Leslie, one brother: Gregory Donegan, and his parents: Allen A. Donegan and Mildred McDonald Donegan.
