Donald Wayne Lynn, 82, of Huntsville passed away August 20th. Donald was born August 30, 1939, and grew up in Brookside, Alabama, a small coal mining town North of Birmingham. He was the first in his family to go to college and graduated from Auburn University with a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering and a master’s degree in Applied Math.

Donald married his wife, Carol, in June of 1962 and in 1963 they moved to Huntsville for him to work in the Government Defense Industry until his retirement from SAIC in 1999.

Donald enjoyed all things Auburn and loved all Auburn sports. A highlight of his life as an Auburn fan was being present for the 2010 Football National Championship. His pride and joy were his grandchildren and watching them all play their various sports. Donald was also a softball coach for many years for his daughters’ softball teams.

Donald is survived by his wife of 60 years, Carol Lynn; son, Rob Lynn of Jacksonville, FL; daughters, Karen (Drew) Klasing of DeWitt, MI, and Cindy Uselton of Charlotte, NC; six grandchildren, Andrew Klasing, Will Klasing, Caroline Klasing, Connor Uselton, Ethan Uselton, and Alex Uselton. He is also survived by his beloved cocker spaniel, Beau.

Visitation will be Saturday August 27th from 1-3 p.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home.
