Donald Wayne “Donny Red” Pounders Sr., 61, of Russellville, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2013, at his residence.
Mr. Pounders was a lifelong resident of Franklin County and a member of Divine Baptist Church, Russellville. He graduated from Russellville High School and was a retired truck driver.
The funeral service will be Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, at 11 a.m., at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel, Russellville, with burial in Winston Memorial Cemetery, Haleyville. Officiating will be Pastor Caley Farris, Brother Roger Kennedy and Brother Lyman Rea. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.
Survivors include wife, Shirley Craft Pounders; son, Donald Wayne Pounders Jr. (Brittany Hall); daughter, LaNeisha Anderson; son-in-law, Darren Anderson; grandchildren, Will Anderson, Haley Hall, Kailyn Hall and Lathan Pounders; mother-in-law, Shirley I.V. Craft; sisters, Freda Gandy (Roger) and Brenda Roberts (Travis); and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by father, Donald Leon “Buddy Red” Pounders; mother, Billie Jo Pounders; sisters, Vickie Jo Fretwell and Debra Kay Grissom; and father-in-law, Mickey Craft.
Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville, is directing.
