Donald Roy Flake, lovingly known as “D.C.”, passed away peacefully after a brief illness at Pontotoc Health and Rehab surrounded by his family. Donald retired from A & T Parts and Rebuilders after many years of dedicated service. He enjoyed visiting yard sales and hand braiding ropes which he gave to family and friends.
He is survived by his sons, Donald Roy Flake, Jr. of Ecru, MS and Julian Tyler Flake (Jessie) of Reading, MI; his grandchildren, Kinsley and Truitt Flake; his brothers, Ronald Flake (Janet) of Ecru, MS and Travis Flake (Sarah) of Hamilton, MS; his sister, Glenda Hill (Tom) of Pontotoc, MS; and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his nursing home family who all knew him for his grumpiness but remember him most for his kind heart.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Elvin and Margie Flake.
Arrangements will be Tuesday, February 27, 2024, with visitation beginning at 2PM and service following at 3PM at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc. His nephew, Bro. Jimmy Flake will officiate. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Flake, Alex Hill, Ethan Flake, Whit Flake, Nathan White, and Carl Breedlove.
