Mr. Donald Rex Lee, age 71, of Joppa, Alabama passed away peacefully at his brother’s home on Saturday, July 22, 2023. Mr. Lee was born on October 26, 1951 to the late Homer H. Lee and Mildred M. Vincent Lee. Donald worked in the construction industry as a sheet rock hanger. He spent leisure time enjoying nature through his gardening skills and fishing. Donald loved animals and would try to take care of all that he thought needed help. He thoroughly enjoyed music and spent many hours playing his guitar.
Left behind to cherish memories of Donald include his daughter and son-in-law, Heather Case and Zarko Manojovic; brothers and sisters-in-law, Wallace A. and Betty Lee and Billy R. and Virginia Lee; grandchildren, Brady Harris and Dawson Kidd; two great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Family members preceding Donald in death are his parents, Homer and Mildred Lee; brothers, LaVaughn Lee, Hollis W. Lee and Danny L. Lee; sisters, Hilda Chapman and Trilby Lee.
Services for Mr. Lee will be held at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, July 26, 2023. Visitation will be between the hours of 10:00 and 11:00 a.m. The funeral service will immediately follow beginning at 11:00 a.m. Brother Frank Whitaker will be officiating. Interment will be in the Lawrence Cove Cemetery.
Pallbearers escorting Mr. Lee will be Billy R. Lee, Daniel Franks, Asher Franks and Wayne Martin.
