Donald Ray Finley was born March 4, 1952 in Adamsville, TN, the son of the late J. C. Finley and Hermie Virginia Weeks Finley. He departed this life on April 11, 2024 in Adamsville, Tennessee at the age of 72 Years, 1 Month, 7 Days.
Donald was united in marriage to Sherry McCombs on July 6, 1973. He was proud to be working as machinist and welder most of his life. He was meticulous and a perfectionist in all parts of his life. He was Baptist in belief. He served his community as a Leapwood Volunteer Fire Fighter for 25 years, having served as Assistant Chief. He enjoyed playing golf, mowing his lawn and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Sherry McCombs Finley of Adamsville, TN; three daughters: Dawn Finley Short and husband Greg of Adamsville, TN, Lisa Finley Egger and husband Neil of Starkville, MS, Amy Finley Kirk and husband Michael of Tuscumbia, AL; six grandchildren: Breanna Childers, Greg Short Jr., Emily Kirk, Lucas Egger, Levi Egger, Alex Egger; a grt-grandchild, Emma Grace Short; four sisters: Joyce Mitchell and husband Robert, Marcia Carlson and husband Ronald, Tarecia Shelton, Rhonda Sisk and husband Ricky; two brothers, Dennis Finley and wife Sheryl, Jeff Finley and wife Carolyn; sister-in-law, Beverly Finley; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Finley was preceded in death by a brother, Bryce Finley; and a brother-in-law, Norman Shelton.
