Donald Pierce Griffith passed away peacefully in Jacksonville, AL at his residence surrounded by his loved ones on June 16, 2024. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.
He was born on October 26, 1939 to Grover and Ether Griffith. He was a farmer and home builder. He had a passion for vegetable gardening. He was loved and respected by everyone that knew him.
Donald is survived by his three daughters, Marsha Brock (Byron), Diana Vickery (Donnie) and Jennifer Hill (Melvin). Also left to cherish his memory are his grandchildren, Jake Swindle (Kendal), Sarah Harris (Tyler), Caleb Lehr, Zach Hunt (Britt), Jesse Hunt (Heather), Anna Jennings (Jace), Logan Hill and 14 great grandchildren. His brothers Doyce Griffith (Gail) and Doug Griffith (Selena).
He is preceded in death by his father and mother Grover and Ether Griffith and his wife of 64 years, Betty Jo Griffith.
His immediate family will be honoring him with a private celebration of life event.
His family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Riverview Regional Medical Center. They would also like to thank Southern Care Hospice and Misty Wells for her compassion and care.
