Donald Doud Profile Photo  With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Donald Nelson Doud, beloved father, grandfather, and friend on December 28, 2023 at his residents. Donald was born to Henry Nelson and Ruth Alma Whitesell Doud on December 24, 1956, in the vibrant city of Chicago, Illinois.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Lou Ann Doud. He is survived by his daughter, Erica Doud (Roberto Torres); the love of his life and father of his child, Sue Doud; sister Sandra Stirling; grandchild, Jordan Skinner, and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Donald, a true man of many talents, was known for his diverse passions. One would never find him without a fishing rod in hand, patiently casting lines into the waters, seeking a connection with nature. He had an uncanny ability to make friends wherever he went, never hesitating to strike up a conversation with strangers and leaving lasting impressions with his genuine warmth and charisma.

A true jack of all trades, Donald was a master of embracing life’s simple pleasures. His love for his family knew no bounds, as he treasured every moment spent with his loving daughter Erica Doud. They would often engage in friendly competitions while playing games, fishing, solving puzzles, laughing and enjoying their time together.

Donald’s soul soared alongside the mighty eagles that graced the skies above, serving as a reminder to embrace life with unwavering determination and grace. Music held a special place in his heart, as he found comfort in from many different types of music from soothing melodies to foot-tapping beats, allowing him to appreciate their beauty in all its forms.

The child within Donald never ceased to exist, as he remained a Big Toys ‘R Us kid at heart. His eyes would light up with excitement as he explored new adventures alongside children, sharing laughter and joy while creating cherished memories that would be carried throughout their lives.

Donald Nelson Doud, you have touched our lives in ways that words cannot express. May your soul find eternal peace and may our memories of you forever brighten our days. You will be deeply missed, but your spirit will live on within our hearts.
