Donald Merritt Hogue, 73, departed this life on Friday November 22, 2024, at his home in Tippah County.

Services celebrating Mr. Donald’s life will be at 4 PM Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at Faith Fellowship Church in Ripley with Bro. Warren Harrell officiating. Ripley Funeral Home will be handling all arrangements.

Mr. Donald was born September 22, 1951, in Ripley, MS to the late Ruben T. and Opal Tigner Hogue. He received his education from Pine Grove Highschool and was a valued employee with Bench Craft for fifty-five years, working in the frame mill department.

A Christian and “good ole boy”, Mr. Donald’s favorite pastimes included fishing, watching basketball, especially Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls, and hanging out with family and friends, while listening to southern and classic rock music. Someone who lived life to the fullest and never met a stranger, Mr. Donald laughed often, loved his family and friends abundantly, and leaves a legacy that will continue to be cherished for all the days to come.

Those left to cherish his memories include one daughter, Leigh Ann Hogue, one son, Chris Hogue, one sister, Barbara Greer (Billy), the mother of his children, Melissa Watkins, one granddaughter, Haley Underwood, and a host of family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by one son, Alex Hogue, one brother, Wayne Hogue, and one sister, Dorris Wilbanks.
