Pinkstaff, Donald Mayo Sr. (Don), age 87, of Fayetteville, TN, Huntsville, AL, and Nashville, TN passed away Monday afternoon, May 27, 2013, after a brief illness in Nashville. Don was born in Belleville, TN, and attended Central High School in Fayetteville. He was a general merchandise distributor and owner of Don M. Pinkstaff Wholesale Co. Additionally, he farmed in Lincoln County and was owner of Pinky’s Pony Farm. Through the pony rides he provided years of entertainment for local schools and at the Lincoln County Fair. After moving to Huntsville, he worked as a salesman for Hill Chevrolet and Woody Anderson Ford. He also worked at the US Army Missile Command as a security guard. Upon retirement he was a proud homeowner and an avid gardener. Don was preceded in death by his parents, Arville Mayo Pinkstaff and Ida Mai Broadway Pinkstaff; sisters, Frances McCune, Margaret Duckett, and brother, Kenneth R. Pinkstaff. He is survived by his children, Donna Beach (Bill) of Atlanta, GA, Jan Click (Larry) of Knoxville, TN, Amy Leonard (Mike) of Cumming, GA, and Don Pinkstaff (Cindy) of Nashville, TN; grandchildren, Dr. Rachel Click Wilson (Davy) of Bristol, TN, Austin Pinkstaff (Tarrah) of Puyallup, Washington, Farrell Click of Dallas, TX, Will Gray Beach (Kate) of Apex, NC; great grandchildren, Reese Evelyn Wilson, Reese Andrew Pinkstaff; mother of his children, Kathryn Gray Hope of Atlanta, GA; sisters, Ruth White, Doris Jean Hamlin of Fayetteville, Mary Alice Morrow of Decatur, AL, and Patricia Edmondson of Fayetteville and a host of nieces, nephews and close friends. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM till 1:00 PM on Saturday followed by a Celebration of Life at 1:00 PM at Higgins Funeral Home with Rev. Kirk Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery. Higgins Funeral Home, 213 East Market Street in Fayetteville, TN is assisting the Pinkstaff family.
