Donald Lynn Wilson – Obituary

Donald Lynn Wilson age 81 passed away Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

He was born February 13, 1936 in Pinson, the son of the late Cary Estes and Ada Jones Wilson. He graduated from Pinson High School in 1954 and attended U.T. Martin. He was drafted and served two years in the Army, stationed at El Paso, TX. He worked for GM&O Railroad for nine years before going to the Postal Service. He was a mail carrier in the City of Jackson, retiring in 2001. He was a member of the Pinson United Methodist Church.

He married Jane Johnson Blanken in 1971 and they made their home at Pinson.

Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife, Jane Johnson Wilson of Pinson; a son, Mike Blanken and wife Shannon of Medina and two daughters, Stephanie Wilson of Denver, CO and Kristi Wilson Langsdon and husband Roy of Pinson; three grandchildren; Lindsey Jones, Mikayla Blanken and Adeline Blanken and four great grandchildren; a sister, Linda Holder and husband Staley of Pinson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ralph Wilson.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Monday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with burial in the Rogers Cemetery in Pinson.

The family will receive friends at 11:00 am until 2:00 pm on Monday at Casey Chapel.
