Mr. Donald Jones, age 82, of the Brocks Chapel community of Union Grove, Alabama passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at Diversicare of Arab. Donald was born March 8, 1942 in Marshall County, AL. His parents were Harve Jones and Della Louise Griggs Jones. Donald was a high school graduate, a member of Mtn. View Baptist Church and a US Navy veteran. His military obligation of 6 years was during the Vietnam Era where he served on the USS Lexington Aircraft Carrier.
Donald is survived by his son, Jarred Jones; daughter, Jennifer Jones Hillman; brother and sister in law, Ronald and Sue Jones; sister and brother in law, Sarah and Barry Wright.
Preceding Donald in death are his parents, Harve and Della Jones; son, Michael Jones; brothers, Wayne Jones and John Jones; sisters, Nell Kelly, Loura Black and Rhonda Ponder.
The family has chosen to honor Donald’s wishes with cremation. Family, friends and guest will gather for a Memorial graveside service at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 17, 2024 at Brocks Chapel Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel.
