Donald Franklin Fortune, 80, passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2015, at his home. He was born July 22, 1934 to the late Ernest Clyde Fortune and the late Ella Mae Higginbottom Fortune. He retired from U.S. Navy after 21 years of service and he was a member of the local V.F.W. and the American Legion. Don was the founding father of the Mingo Motorcycle Club.He was a member of Pine Grove Church of Christ. He enjoyed traveling and reading and most of all spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his son, Terry (Teresa) Fortune of Fulton; Daughter, Joan Fortune of Millington, TN; Brother, Jimmie Fortune of Batesville, MS; Granddaughters: Esther (Ray) Clark, Carolyn Ruston, and Sarah Ruston all of Imperial Beach, CA; Grandsons Dustin (Brenteney) Fortune and Matthew Fortune of Fulton; 2 Great Granddaughters; 5 Great Grandsons; Special Friend, Janice Bostick; Son-in-law, Art Mason.
Preceded in death by his parents, wife, Carolyn Janes Fortune; Daughter, Debbie Mason, Brothers: Leo Vernon Fortune and Gene Fortune, Sisters: Bernice Hodgin, Tae Webb, and Ernestine Bondurant.
Honorary Pallbearers are the Mingo Motorcycle Club.
