Donald “Don” Wayne Baker

Mr. Donald “Don” Wayne Baker, age 68, a resident of Shouse Road in Santa Fe, passed away Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at NHC Maury Regional Transitional Care Center.

 

A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 12, 2021, at 3:00 PM at Polk Memorial Gardens with Keith Baker officiating. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

 

Born on January 21, 1953, in Maury County, Don was the son of Jean Johnson Baker and the late Randall Baker. He was a 1971 graduate of Santa Fe School. Don worked at General Electric, Fedders, and most recently at Maury Regional Medical Center Environmental Services where he retired in 2019. He was an avid lover of movies, music, and superheroes.

 

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his sister, Nancy Baker (Roger) Sullivan of Santa Fe, brothers Larry (Pamela) Baker of Santa Fe, David Baker of Santa Fe, nieces and nephews, Jason Baker of Santa Fe, Amanda (Josh) Oliver of Columbia, Brittany (Kyle) Smithson of Spring Hill, great nieces and nephews, Cannon and Avie Oliver of Columbia, Kaylee Baker of Columbia, and Acelyn Baker of Bon Aqua.

 

Along with his father, he was preceded in death by his nephew, Christopher Adam Baker.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Santa Fe School Library: 2629 Santa Fe Pike, Santa Fe, TN 38482.

 

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Ben Gardner, the Hospice Compassus nurses and techs, and NHC and their nursing staff with a special thanks to nurse Lynn Kirk for their care and compassion for Don.
