Donald “Don” Ray Gurley, age 76 of Pleasant View, Tennessee, died Friday, May 10, 2024 at his home.
Funeral services will be conducted at New Hope Free Will Baptist Church at 12:00PM on Thursday, May 16th, with Bro. Corey Minter, Bro. Tom Malone, and Bill Ezell officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery with Randy Terrell, Ryan Terrell, Theo Arsenault, John “Peanut” Nickens, Thomas Binkley, and Patrick Johnson serving as pallbearers. New Hope Adult Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday, May 16th from 10:00AM until the hour of service at 12:00PM.
Mr. Gurley was born on August 8, 1947 in Nashville, Tennessee. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and retired from Holland Freight Company. He was a member of New Hope Free Will Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Frances Gurley; daughter, Leanne Pulley; son Jackie Gurley; grandmother, Addie Mae Kerr; and brother, Charles “Butch” Gurley.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Gurley; daughters, Ginger (Patrick) Johnson and Tami (Randy) Terrell; brother, John “Peanut” (Allison) Nickens; sisters, Diane Baker and Renee Knupp; grandchildren, Lacie Reynolds, Jennifer (Theo) Arsenault, Ryan Terrell, Sarah (Keenan) Owen, Kelsie Krantz; and six great-grandchildren.
