  F.2.22.24 Donald Bowling.jpgDonald D. Bowling, 79, Muscle Shoals, passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2024. A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 24, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia.

Don was a member of Tharptown Baptist Church for many years but was recently attending Valley Grove Baptist Church in Tuscumbia. He worked as a truck driver for Walmart for twenty-eight years and was a member of the Masons at Newburg Lodge in the 1970s and 1980s. Don was a member of the Alabama Trucking Association Public Speaking Team from 1999 – 2000. He loved spending time on his beloved “Mud Creek Farm”, looking after his cows and horses, mending fences, and bushhogging pastures. In his spare time, Don loved to hunt and take afternoon naps. He cherished spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Don was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Byrl and Mattie Mildred Bowling; brother, Billy Bowling; and sister, Rose Church.

Don is survived by his wife of 29 years, Amanda Bowling; children, Mary Delana Powell (Michael), Dena Westcott, and Derrick Bowling (Steve Ryan); bonus children, Kelley Corson and Patrick McCulloch (Brandy); brother, Greg Bowling; sister, Martha Lonnette Peters; sister-in-law, Glenda Bowling; grandchildren, Rana Gillette (Chris), Katia Stewart (Kenny), Ryan Wilson, Dalton Wilson (Triana), Sera-Mikal Westcott, Grant Corson, and Ethan McCulloch; and six great-grandchildren.

The family extends special thanks to Affinity Hospice and Amanda Mitchell for their wonderful care and support.
