Donald C. Wadeÿÿÿÿ½Æ~µð£sDonald Clay Wade, 69, of Chattanooga, TN went to be with his Lord on Monday, August 18, 2014. Don was a retired employee of the TVA and was a member of Brainerd Hills Baptist Church in East Brainerd.
Don was born and raised in Florence, AL where he lived for 54 years before moving to Chattanooga to continue his career (of almost 40 years) with The Tennessee Valley Authority. Don was a graduate of The University of North Alabama in Florence, AL.
Don was preceded in death by his parents Samuel C. Wade and Bessie J. Wade.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra B. Wade; son Michael C. (Lisa) Wade, Alabaster, AL; daughter Victoria D. Wade of Spain; and two granddaughters, Britton and Katie Wade of Alabaster, AL; also surviving is his twin brother David L. (Jenny) Wade, of Florence, Al; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday, August 23, 2014 in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Richard Mason of Brainerd Hills Baptist Church officiating.
We would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Benjamin Nadeau, Don’s oncologist and to Tiffany, Don’s clinical trial nurse as well as the staff and nurses at Tennessee Oncology for the loving care they administered to Don as he valiantly waged his battle against cancer. We would also like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff in the MICU unit of Memorial Hospital for the compassionate care they showed for Don and our family during his stay in the unit.
The family is requesting that memorial contributions be given to the Sarah Cannon Cancer Research Center (PearlPoint Cancer Support) and to the Brainerd Hills Baptist Church building program.
