Don Schubert, age 61, passed away Sunday, July 28, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Bernice Schubert; brother, David Schubert; and niece, Jennifer Schubert.
He is survived by his wife, Gita Schubert; children, John Schubert, Abbigail Schubert, Nancy Cook, Andrew Cook, and Jathon Nightingale; brother, Duane Schubert and his wife Kay; nephew, Chris Schubert; nieces, Kristine Ellenburg, Kelly Milton; and several close friends.
Don was a Navy veteran and had been a Murfreesboro Police Officer for 26 years. When off duty he was a car enthusiast who also enjoyed gaming and riding his Harley Davidson. Don’s selfless nature showed through his career as well as his friendships within the community and those around him. He was a loving and dedicated husband, father, brother, uncle, coworker, and friend.
Visitation will be Monday, August 5, 2024 from 4:00-7:00 PM at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Funeral service will be Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow with military honors at Gilley Hill Cemetery in Bradyville, TN. The Murfreesboro Police Department will serve as honor guard and pallbearers.
