Don Nieman Sr. born on December 15, 1943, was called home by our Heavenly Father on July 22, 2024. Proceeded in death by his son, J. Russell Nieman, his parents, Norman H. and Marjorie Nieman. He is survived by his devoted wife Kathleen, his sons Don (Wendy) Nieman Jr., Robert (Carolyn) Nieman, and daughter-in-law Roxanne, his grandchildren, Dawn, Kira, Skylar, Robyn, Joshua, Audrey, and Alexandra, his sister Joan nephew Kevin (Sara) and great-nephews Ben and Nolan, faithful furry friend Koco. Don was always involved at his church, St. Catherine of Siena, where he was active in adult ministry, couples groups, choir, and as a lector. You could often find him in his kitchen perfecting a recipe and setting up a grill. Holiday fudge will never taste the same.
The family will visit with friends on Friday, July 26, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, Tennessee. The Rite of Christian Burial Mass will be held for Donald Saturday, July 27, 2024, at 10:00 AM at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Columbia, Tennessee with Father Dan Reehil officiating. Burial will take place at Polk Memorial Gardens at a later date.
The family invites friends and guests to a reception for Don following his services at 11:00 a.m. in Blevins Hall at Williams Funeral Home of Columbia.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Pregnancy Centers of Middle Tennessee at 704 Dunnington St, Columbia, TN 38401, or to the Maury County Animal Shelter at 1233 Mapleash Ave. Columbia, TN 38401.
