DECATUR-On Thursday, May 21 the Decatur Police responded to a call of a stabbing. Here is how the Decatur Police Department describe the event:
SYNOPSIS OF OFFENSE & ARREST:
On 5/21/15 at 7:23pm, Decatur Police received a call of a stabbing at 2908 Lynnwood Cir SW.
While Officers were enroute to the call, dispatch was advised that the suspect was leaving the area in a Green Dodge Ram pickup.
Officer Nathan Foreman spotted the suspect’s vehicle and stopped it in the Academy Sports parking lot.
The victim, Jedediah Bumpus, was the boyfriend of Owen’s ex-wife. Bumpus had been stabbed in the back, arm and the left side of his face. He was transported to Huntsville Hospital, where he was treated and released.
Owens was taken to Decatur City Hall and was charged with Assault in the 2nd Degree. He was later transferred to the Morgan Co Jail in lieu of a $2500.00 bond.
