FLORENCE-Florence-Lauderdale Animal Services is teaming up with North Shore Animal League America to throw an awesome PAW-TY in honor of DOGust 1st®, the official birthday for all rescue dogs.
From Tuesday, August 1 through Monday, August 7, Florence-Lauderdale Animal Services located at 3240 Roberson Road in Florence is offering a $25 Adoption Fee Special and giveaway packets for new adopters.
Since the actual dates of birth for most rescued dogs are unknown, North Shore Animal League America created DOGust 1st to celebrate rescue dogs (those adopted and those still in shelters awaiting loving homes.) Since 2008, these “mutt-i-grees” have had this day designated to honor the incredible impact they make on our lives.
To commemorate DOGust 1st, celebrations are being hosted more than fifty (50) of Animal League America’s shelter partners across the country throughout the first week of August.
