FLORENCE – It only cost 25-dollars… Far less than heading out to Alaska, buying some malamutes, and freezing your self. Sherry St. John of Big River Broadcasting managed to pull off an new and fun way of making some moola for the Lauderdale and Colbert Animal Shelters. It was her version of the world-famous Iditarod. Somewhat different, instead of the dogs pulling their owners around on a sled, the owners rolled their pups around the track on a shopping cart. It was different.

It was fun too! Almost 900-dollars was raised.

The Quad-Cities Daily, a co-sponsor of the Iditarod, was on hand to record the action in EVENT PHOTOS.  We present them here. Enjoy!
