Mr. Doc Wright Woodard, age 80, passed away on Friday, September 1, 2023, at his home in Lexington. He was born March 2, 1943 in Medina to the late Guy and Lurene M. Woodard. He was a retired U. S. Navy Veteran, serving 4 tours in Vietnam. He served on the S.S. Enterprise and several air craft carriers. He later retired as a truck driver. He was a member of Rock Hill Baptist Church and enjoyed woodworking, trains, and fishing.
Survivors include his wife of over 40 years, Mrs. Jeanette M. Woodard; his son, Daniel Woodard (Julie); two daughters, Alissa Hancock (Adrin) and Phyllis Morris (Donald); four sisters, Alma Lewis (Lutten), Sue Holland, Geneva Boyd, and Deborah Ross; and five grandchildren, Tara Woodard, Tyler Hancock (Kristen), Justin Morris (Morgan), Brandon Morris, and Samantha Woodard.
He was preceded in death by one son, Charles Woodard and one brother, Guy Woodard, Jr.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 PM, Sunday, September 3, 2023 in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home in Lexington. Interment will follow in Rock Hill Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, 2 – 7 PM and on Sunday, 12 – 2 PM.
