Dixie Mary Bowles, 81, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2024, at NMMC – Hospice Unit in Tupelo, MS. Born on March 4, 1942, in Jasper, AL she was a retired office manager for a doctor’s office and was the Northeast area Senior Director of Mississippi Homemaker Volunteers. A mother, wife, and grandmother, Dixie loved to travel and see new things, and was proud of all her grandchildren.
Dixie is survived by her husband, Warren Gillispie; her sons, Scott Bowles and Lance Bowles; sisters, Lynda Smith and Sarah Gregory; and her grandchildren, Heather Bowles, Caitlin Robison, Morgan Murphy, Gregory Bowles, Anthony Bowles, Joseph Bowles, Alaina Bowles.
Those preceding her in death are her parents, Willie A. Gregory and Myrtle P. Rigsby; sister, Ginny Trotter; brother, Harold “John” Rigsby; and her first husband of 46 years, Larry Bowles.
Services will be Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at 2PM at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc with Bro. Paul Childress. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 23rd 5-8PM and Wednesday, January 24th 1PM until service time. Burial will follow in West Heights Cemetery.
