Dixie L. Strickland, 87, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2024 at her home. She was born in Itawamba County, MS to Archie and Cora Sartin Riddle. She worked as seamstress for 38 years. She attended Atwood Baptist Church and worked in Children’s ministry and drove the church van for over twenty years at Emmanuel Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be Monday, July, 1 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, AL with Bro. Matthew Haney officiating. Burial will be in Dempsey Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by her children, Kathy Brown (Bill) and Bud Strickland (Lisa); grandchildren, Michael Brown (Amanda) and Chris Strickland (Beth); great-grandchildren, Carter and Lexi Chittam and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Thomas Ed Strickland; her parents and one son, Thomas Wade Strickland.
Pallbearers will be David Reynolds, Will Reynolds, Wigg Reynolds, Britt Freeman and Chris Strickland.
Visitation will be Monday, July 1, 11-1 at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL.
