alabama preservationFLORENCE– As a part to the 2014 Alabama Preservation Conference, the Alabama Trust for Historic Preservation will host An Evening with the Trust, a benefit dinner at the O’Neal Farm, one of the most historic family farms in the Shoals. The event will be held on Thursday evening, April 24, from 7:30 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. The dinner, served al fresco, will feature food prepared by local chef Alan Phillips of the Red Clay wild gameEpicurean. Among the menu items to be served will be wild game hors d’oeuvres, farm-to-table dinner courses, and a decadent dessert sampling. Music will be included.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for our local preservation community to support the Alabama Trust while visiting one of the most historic properties in the Shoals,” stated Bo Osborn, Alabama Trust board member and co-chair of this year’s conference. “We have a wonderful evening planned featuring the culinary skills of one of the area’s most talented chefs. Focusing on the farm-to-table movement really celebrates our agricultural heritage while showcasing the creativity that is making the Shoals one of the most intriguing areas in the South,” Osborn continued. “This dinner is about celebrating preservation and the renaissance of the Shoals.”
Tickets to An Evening with the Trust are $75 per person. Tickets may be purchased on-line through the Conference registration form at http://www.alabamatrust.info or at Trinity Episcopal Church in Florence, the Kennedy Douglas Center, and the Colbert County Tourism offices.
