Dickey Long, Sr., 77, passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at his residence. He was born in Mississippi to Adell and Maxine Thomas Long and was a truck driver for more than fifty years. He was a member of Hurricane Creek Missionary Baptist Church.
Services will be Saturday, October 12, 2 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Belmont, MS with Bro. Bradley Long and Bro. David Holcomb officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, October 12, 12-2 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery, Golden, MS. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS will be in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Tonya Long of Golden, MS; two sons, Justin Pounders of Tishomingo, MS and Dickey Long, Jr. (Leeann) of Kentucky; one daughter, Kim Long (Jamie) of Kentucky; brother, Jeff Long (Patti) of Red Bay, AL; sister, Sheila Long- Lindley (Kevin) of Belmont, MS; grandchildren, Tristin Pounders, Riley Pounders, Dillon Forrester, Dalton Long, Hayley Long, Craig Long and Brooke Stanfield and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, C.D. Long.
Pallbearers will be Robert Simmons, Randy Elliott, Brandon Long, Brayden Long, Mark Carlton and Steven Webb.
