Dick Kimbrell – Obituary

Mr. Dick Kimbrell, 86 of Arab, The Ruth Community, died Wednesday September 13, 2017 at his residence.
Mr. Kimbrell was born February 18, 1931 in Fayette County to Fred Kimbrell and Sissie Earnest Kimbrell. He worked in construction as a carpenter. He and the former Eunice Evelyn Norris were married for 62 years. Mr. Kimbrell enjoyed hunting and fishing. He made numerous walking canes and was an excellent cabinet maker. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his friends at Jack’s and McDonald’s.
Mr. Kimbrell attended Lake City Assembly of God.
He is survived by his wife: Eunice Kimbrell; his daughters and son-in-law: Libby Mays and Eddie and Sharon Sims and Mark Barron; his son and daughter-in-law: Tom Kimbrell and Carrie; his grandchildren: April Martin, Corey Kimbrell, Jessica Kimbrell, Morgen Mays, Tayler Phillips and Ricky and Xavier Kimbrell; one great grandchild: Eli Phillips; his brothers and sisters-in-law: John Lewis Kimbrell and Carolyn and Floyd Kimbrell and Carolyn. He was preceded in death by his son: James Kimbrell; his parents: Fred and Sissie Kimbrell and eight siblings.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday September 16, 2017 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel with Brothers: E.J. Lowery and Ray Higginbotham, officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Oak-Ruth Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
Pallbearers will be Xavier Kimbrell, Mark Barron, Ricky Phillips, Eddie Mays, Ricky Martin and Corey Kimbrell.
Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Saturday September 16, 2017 prior to the service.
