Dianne Pickett, 80 died Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at Baptist Hospital in New Albany, MS. She was born March 26, 1943, in Memphis, TN. She was a member of Harmony Baptist Church in New Albany. She graduated from Memphis Tech High School in 1962. She was a bookkeeper for Ford Tractor and Co-owner of Harmony Grocery for over a decade. She later retired from the Union County Sheriff’s Department as a Jailer.
A Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 28, 2024, at Glenfield Memorial Park with Bro. Jeff Lawerence officiating. Glenfield Funeral Home of New Albany is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include one daughter, Constance Pickett Gilley, and husband, Rickey Gilley, of New Albany, one son, Paul L. Pickett, and Two brothers, Spencer L. Nix and wife, Kristy Nix, and Lewis Prather, and four grandchildren, Jessica Morrisson and husband, Zach Morrisson, Mallory Gilley, Nathan and Taylor Pickett, and two great-grandchildren, Salem and Joseph Cole Morrisson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald L. Pickett, her father Thomas Grady Prather, and mother, Connie Louise Shirley, and brother, Larry W. Prather.
Pallbearers will be Justin Butler, Chad Coffey, Zach Morrisson, Nathan Pickett, Rick Taylor, and Mathew Young. Honorary Pallbearer Paul S. Stanford.
