Diane Pugh West Diane Pugh – West, 74, of Hanceville, Alabama was born August 17, 1949 to Odell and Elime Pugh in Jefferson County, Alabama and gained her new body on August 27, 2023. Diane was faithfully married to her spouse, Joseph C. West, for 54 years; resided in Garden City, Alabama, until 1975; them moving to their home in Hanceville, where they resided with their children, Rhonda and Stephen until they moved out for colleges and marriages. This was also her final resting place, where her closest family and friends, sang, cried, prayed for 45 minutes on Thursday, August 24; where the Lord sent His Glory down in her living room, where she also praised the Lord with lifting of her hands, and praising the One who gave her life, and three days later her spirit arose to lay her “HEAVY” crown down at her Savior’s feet at the throne of God. She was preceded in death by her parents; Odell & Eline Pugh; Uncle Benjie Pugh; Aunt Ruby Whaley; and sister-in-love, Vickie Pugh. She is survived by her husband, Joseph C. West; daughter, Rhonda (Phillip) Davis; son, Stephen (Regina) West, brother, Eugene Pugh; sister, Rita (Anthony) Swann; grandchildren, Hannah Davis, Jordan Davis, Alisha West, and soon-to-be grandson-in-love Rusty Cranford. Mrs. West graduated from Hanceville High School in May 1966 and from Wallace State in May 1994 with an Associates Degree in Office Management. She began teaching Sunday School in 1960 at 12 years of age at Bethel Church of God, Arkadelphia, Alabama; until December 2022, a total of 61 years. She served in several capacities along with Office Manager for the Cullman County Health Department until her retirement in August 2014. She currently served as the Food Bank Director for the Garden City Church of God since 2008, until July 22, 2023. Her final Worship Service Life Celebration will be held at Garden City Church of God on Saturday, Sept. 2» at 2pm. Her immediate family, daughter, Rhonda West Davis (Phillip, Hannah, Rusty, Jordan); Stephen West (Regina and Alisha) send out special requests for any who ever knew her to join her past co-workers, friends, family, and church family.
