Dexter "Gene" Arnold Profile Photo Dexter “Gene” Arnold, 77, of Cairo, MS, passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2022 at his residence. Born in Booneville, MS on January 20, 1945 to the late Marvin and Ockless Lambert Arnold, he was a veteran of the US Army, a member of Macedonia Freewill Baptist Church where he served as deacon, a member of the American Legion and a member of the Masonic Lodge.  Gene enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family and friends. Visitation is scheduled from 11-2 Thursday, September 22, 2022 at Macedonia Freewill Baptist Church with a service with military honors to follow at 2 PM. Bro. Craig Wilbanks and Bro. Johnny Houston will officiate the service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  Pallbearers include Andrew Mask, Gary Hancock, Adam Arnold, Chris Lilly, Mitchell Wright, Tony Mask, Merret Childers, and Tyler Hill. Magnolia Funeral Home – East is entrusted with the arrangements. Those left to honor Gene’s memory include his wife, Carolyn; his children, Jeannie (Chris), Tammie, Shelia (Tony), and Rhonda (Mitchell); ten grandchildren, Jennifer (Merret), Adam (Kaitlyn), Andrew, Valerie, Gary (Jacqueline), Paige (Tyler), Halley, Vivian, McKenzie, and Madlyn; twenty great grandchildren; his siblings, Martha, Nancy, Merle, Pam, Harold, Cindy, and Marty; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by brothers, Randall and Sonny.
