Dewey Lee Smith, 65, of Rogersville died Wednesday, July 18th, 2012 at UAB Hospital.
He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
Visitation will be Saturday from 6 – 8 p.m. at Rogersville Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Sunday at 2 p.m. with Hollis Retherford and Wendell White officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Russell Laster, Lynn Childers, Max Thornton, Johnny King, Jeff Smith and Shawn Sharp and honorary, Josh Childers.
Dewey was preceded in death by his parents, William Bertus and Hattie Mae Smith.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sherry Smith; daughters, Dana (Russell) Laster and Donna (Lynn) Childers; grandchildren, Josh Childers and Jesse Laster; brothers, Glenn (Betty) Smith, Ronnie Smith and Hollis (Gail) Smith; sisters, Vern (Coy) Michael, Connie (Michael) Calhoun and Laree (Doyce) Michael and numerous nieces and nephews.
