Dewey Hayes Parker – Obituary

Dewey Hayes Parker, 86, of Town Creek, Ala., died Friday, June 14, 2013, at Lawrence Medical Center, Moulton, Ala. He was born Nov. 13, 1926, to Dudley H. Parker and Omie (Parker) Parker. He was employed by DMC Masonry as a brick layer and served in the Army during WWII. He was the husband of Mildred Stewart Parker.

Survivors include son, Vernon (Carolyn) Parker, Town Creek, Ala.; daughter, Linda (Lyndon) Blaxton, Moulton, Ala.; granddaughter, Leigh Ann (Jon) Smith, Town Creek, Ala.; great-granddaughter, Rayleigh Arin Smith, Town Creek, Ala.; great-grandson, Bret Parker Smith, Town Creek, Ala.

He was preceded in death by wife, Mildred Stewart Parker; father, Dudley H. Parker; mother, Omie Parker; great-granddaughter, Anna Brette Smith; two sisters; and nine brothers.

He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church No. 2.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Saturday, June 15, 2013, at Lawrence Funeral Home. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, June 16, 2013, at Lawrence Funeral Home, with burial in Hardshell Cemetery. Brother Larry Crumpton is officiating. Pallbearers will be Mike Stewart, Stevie Kerby, Joe Smith, James Roberts, Coy Kerby and Michael Parker.
