Dewayne Eisenhour Martin, age 72, of Madison passed away at his home on December 2, 2023.Mr. Martin was born April 25, 1951 to William and Etha Lee Martin.
He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife Linda Marie Martin; Sister Glenda Campbell; 4 Brothers Al Martin, Bobby Martin, Billy Martin, and Lonnie Martin.
Survivors include his wife, Sybil Martin; daughter Kimberly Farris; sons Jerrell Martin (Stephanie), James Martin (Nancy); step-children David Tomlinson, Josh Tomlinson, Laura Burroughs (Eric); sisters Brenda Brown (Wesley), Ann Sledge (David); brother Glen Martin; 14 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Martin was a good-hearted, open and generous man who loved spending time with his family and friends whom always was a man of God. He attended the First Church Athens for 26 years where he served in various capacities including the executive board.
Visitation will be Monday, December 4th, 2023 at McConnell Funeral Home from 6-8 pm. A service will be held in his honor at First Church Athens, located at 17175 Lucas Ferry Rd, on Tuesday, December 5th, 2023 at 11am. Burial will follow at Gatlin Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Henry Varner, Quin Martin, Andrew Martin, Zack Defoe, Jon Beddingfield and David Martin.
