Dessie Sue Wyatt passed on to be with the LORD on 19th day of Aug. 2017 at Summerford Nursing Home, Falkville, Alabama, at the age of 96. She was born in Talladega County to Mack and Acklus Guantt on May 27, 1921, and was a lifelong resident there until 2001 when she moved to Decatur, Alabama. Her caring and love will be sorely missed by her family who loved her very much.
The Wyatt family would like to extent their gratitude to the staff of Summerford Nursing Home for their attentiveness and loving care. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Sanford (Bid) Wyatt, whom she was married to for 35 years and widowed for 43 years.
She is survived by two sons, Lance Baxter Wyatt (Alice Beam Wyatt), of Isle of Palms, South Carolina, and Mack Wayne Wyatt (Betty Hutton Wyatt), of Decatur, Alabama; two grandsons, Todd McCloud Wyatt, of Decatur, Alabama, and Robert Lance Wyatt, of Chicago, Illinois; one granddaughter, Michelle Wyatt Putnam; and one great-granddaughter, Sara Lee Madison Putnam, both of Decatur, Alabama.
Mrs. Wyatt’s ceremony for family and friends will be on Thursday, Aug. 24, 2017, to be conducted at the Talladega Usrey Funeral Home, Talladega, Alabama by the Reverend Leeanne Scarbrough of the First Presbyterian Church of Talladega.
The visitation will began at 1 p.m. at Talladega Usrey Funeral Home followed by her 2:30 p.m. funeral services at the Usrey Funeral Home with private burial in Pine Hill Memorial Park.
