Derrick Bradley Gasaway, 33, died Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at his residence. He was born February 25, 1979 in Red Bay, Al. and was a construction worker. He attended Fairview Baptist Church and he went home to be with the Lord.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, September 21, at Fairview Baptist Church with Bro. Gene O’Brian, Bro. Billy Adams and Matthew Robinson officiating. Burial will be on his family’s land in Fairview. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, Al. will be in charge of arrangements.
Survivors are one daughter – Hannah Gasaway; his mother – Rhonda Altom (Mike) Tupelo; his father – R.L. Gasaway, Fairview; five brothers – Tim Gasaway, Scotty Gasaway, Austin Gasaway, Matthew Gasaway and Michael Altom; three sisters – Melissa Funderburk, Kim Hacker and Meagen Robinson and nieces and nephews – Jessica & T.C. Gasaway, Gavin, Gage and Garren Earp, Presley Funderburk and Miles, McKayla and Maggie Robinson.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James H. & Jennie Barker and Robert & Ray Gasaway; a niece, Chelsey Hacker and a nephew, Mobley Robinson.
Pallbearers will be Michael Altom, Hayes Altom, Paul McCain, Gary Lee Gasaway, Jason Gasaway and Randy Gasaway.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Friday, September 21, at Fairview Baptist Church.
