Denton Cole – Obituary

Denton Cole, 86, died Feb. 13th, 2017 after a short illness. A celebration of his life was held on Friday, Feb. 17th at Saughatchee Country Club in Auburn.

Cole was born in Sylacauga and raised in Columbiana, Alabama, where he graduated from Shelby County High School. He completed a Bachelor’s degree from Alabama Polytechnic Institute (Auburn) and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He had a lifelong professional career in banking, was a graduate of the Southwestern School of Banking at SMU and retired to Auburn.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marcia (Buck); his three children, Janet Daulton (Tom) of Dallas, Texas, Suzanne Boyle (Tim) of St. Louis, Missouri and Jon Cole (Lisa) of Auburn along with his grandchildren, Bradley Boyle, Kathryn B. Morrison (Will), Libby Boyle, Neal Daulton, Mary Cole Daulton, Carter Daulton, Alison Cole and Preston Cole; his sister, Margaret Allen; nieces, Deborah Allen (Martin) and Kay Allen (Childers), as well as nephew, Jim Allen.

He was one of the nicest men you will ever meet and he will be missed sorely. See ya’ later Hoss! War Eagle!
