Dennis “Preacher” Lynn Wellington, age 56, of Iuka, Mississippi, passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2019. His visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will be Saturday, June 15, 2019, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Hollis Rutherford officiating. Burial will follow in Poplar Creek Cemetery.
Dennis was a heavy machine operator for Vulcan for 29 years and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Marietta, MS. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Wellington; parents, Sonny and Mary Wellington; twin sister, Christine Wellington; and brothers, Mike Wellington and O’Neal Wellington.
His survivors include his wife, Debra Wellington; children, Wesley Wellington, Kayla Thrasher (Dustin), Maria Hayden (Clinton) and Jackie Lewis (Jessica); brothers, Buddy Wellington (Ida) and Tim Wellington (Mary); grandchildren, Wyatt, Everly, Gracie, Riley, Eli, Kamren and Jackson; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Cody Wellington, Edward Wellington, Dewayne “Bit” Wellington, Jeff Aycock, Jackie “Bubba” Lewis and Clinton Hayden. Honorary pallbearers will be Jamie Mims and Rick Balentine.
