It is with grave sadness that we must bid farewell to Dennis Grant “Red” Bevis. He passed away July 29, 2024, at NAMC.
He touched so many lives with his wonderful sense of humor and love for his family. May God grant him the peace he so deserves. Our hearts are with him forever.
Our celebration of his life will begin at 11:00 am with visitation in Cloverdale Church of Christ, 12975 AL Highway 157, Cloverdale, Alabama. Memorial service will be at 1 PM with Bro. Stan Dean and Bro. Dennis Hudgins officiating.
Dennis was born and raised in Cloverdale, Alabama. He graduated from Central High School class of 1965 and became a proud member of the United States Army for the next two years before being honorably discharged January 25, 1967. He met his soon to be wife Cathy Risner and started his work career as an apprentice painter at Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant. He went on to work as a member of the 1293 Union Painters for 40 plus years. Dennis retired from the International Brothers Local Painters and Allied Trades.
Red was preceded in death by his parents, Grady Edward and Mary Easter Parrish Bevis; brother-in-law, Johnny Darby.
Red is survived by his daughters, Bridget (Eugen Greiner) and Misty (Sam Kimbrough); granddaughters, Madison and Ashlyn; great-grandson, Ruan; sister, Jackie Bevis Darby; nephews, Cody (Megan) Darby, and Eric (Ashton) Darby; great-nephews, Tate, Finn, Paxton, and Silas.
