Funeral service for Dennis Edward Carpenter, age 73, of Decatur, will be held Thursday, August 24, 2023 at 1:00PM at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be from 11:00AM to 1:00PM prior to the service. A graveside service will be held Friday, August 25, 2023 at 11:00AM at Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham. Mr. Carpenter passed away Monday, August 21, 2023 at Decatur Morgan Hospital.
He was born October 22, 1949 in Birmingham, Alabama to Edward C. Carpenter and Helen Allen Carpenter.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Connie C. Coker.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Reynolds Carpenter, sons, Mark P. Carpenter (Dori) and Alan E. Carpenter (Brandi), five grandchildren, Hayden, Kendall, Kylie Ann, Anna, Lauren, and niece Donna Coker Crawford (Mick).
He retired from AT&T after 36 years of service. He was a member of First Bible Church.
In Lieu of Flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Valley.
