Dendy Marcellus Rousseau, 97, of Huntsville, died Sunday, June 23, 2024. Dendy was born in Paint Rock, Alabama, to Calvin Marcellus Rousseau and Ophy Dendy Rousseau He graduated from Albertville High School in 1944, and, after proudly serving his country during WWII in the Army Air Corp, went on to receive his B.S degree from Jacksonville State University in 1950. Mr. Rousseau retired as Executive Director of the Huntsville Housing Authority.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Emma Lane Rousseau; his parents; and sister, Maragem Moultrie. Survivors include his son, Joseph “Joby” Rains (Amanda); daughter, Betsy Hunt (Michael); granddaughter, Paige Evans (Sadler); great-granddaughter, Anna Lane Evans; sister, Martha McKee; and two nieces and two nephews.
The family will have a private memorial service at a later date.
