Funeral services for Ms. Dena Jeanette Whitaker, age 62, will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, November 14, 2024 in the Shelton-Hunt Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 10 AM until service time.
Ms. Whitaker, a homemaker and member of the Humboldt Church of God, passed away on Monday, November 11, 2024 in the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Obie Morris and Retha Mae White; step-father, Joe White; a son, Eric Whitaker; a sister, Tena Simmerson; and a brother, Gary Vandiver.
Ms. Whitaker is survived by her step-mother, Joye Scott Morris of Jackson; three daughters, Crystal Smith (Randy) of Henderson, Erin Cagle (Aaron) and Brandy Corbin (Bear) both of Jackson; three brothers, Ricky Morris, Johnny Morris both of Finger, and Hal Waldrup (Nancy) of Jackson; a sister, Maria Curbow (Dan) of Wartrace; eight grandchildren and several beloved nieces and nephews.
