Mrs. Delorice Cortez, age 78, passed away Sunday, November 17, 2024 in Nashville. She was born October 14, 1946 in Henderson County to the late George and Dorthy Whitaker Perry. She was a retired Johnson Controls employee and loved playing games, plants, fishing, and cooking. Most of all, she loved her grandchildren.
Survivors include her son, Mark Gooch (Mandy); two daughters, Mechelle Ruano (Jose Funes) and Trina Bailey; five grandchildren, Michael Ruano (Alana), Derrick Ruano (Kirsten), Cherish Funes, Deanna Rodriguez, and Casey Bartholomew; and seven great grandchildren, Audrey Ruano, Dean Ruano, Gabriella Rodriguez, Gabriel Rodriguez, Brylynn Bartholomew, Myla Bartholomew, and Banks Bartholomew.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1 PM, Friday, November 22, 2024 in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home in Lexington. Interment will follow in Jones Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, 10 AM until 1 PM.
