Delora Sue Ross Pruitt

Delora Sue Ross Pruitt, affectionately known as Mrs. Dot, passed away on October 25, 2021 in Bells, TN.

She was born on January 3, 1936 in Henderson County, TN to the late L.J. and Geneva Ross. The Ross family moved to Bemis and Dot attended J.B. Young High School. At 15, she married Billy L. Pruitt and they were married on August 4, 1951. They were married 51 years until his death in 2002. Mrs. Dot was a hairdresser who owned many beauty shops over the years in South Jackson. She enjoyed crocheting and there wasn’t a resident at Bells Nursing Home who didn’t have something crocheted by her. She was also a member of Madison Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Bill Pruitt; grandson, Michael Rowland; and a great grandson, Howie Rasberry.

She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Rowland (Dale); grandchildren, Heather Grisham (Derek) and Will Pruitt (Erica); granddaughter-in-law, Angela Rowland; great grandchildren, Anna and Andrew Rasberry, Elijah and Alizabeth Grisham, and Jaxson, Madilynn and Jonathan Pruitt; one great great grandson, Khyzlyn Pruitt; two brothers, Larry Ross (Linda) and Dennis Ross (Kay); and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at 1 p.m. at Ebenezer Cemetery in Malesus.
