Funeral service for Deloice Fay Gaston Sanford, 86, will be Friday, December 20, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bobby Gordon officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Mount Hope Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, December 20, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home.
Mrs. Sanford died on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at Riverside Assisted Living . She was born December 13, 1938, in Franklin County, to Rayburn Russell Gaston and Ruth Netherine Manley Gaston.
Mrs. Sanford was a Christian Lady and an active member of West Hartselle Baptist Church, where she taught Bible School for 45 years. She was Nursery and Preschool director in Sunday School for 31 years. She was a graduate of Mt. Hope High School, Class of 1957.
Deloice was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved cooking for others and helping those in her Community. She spent her last years at Riverside Senior Living in Decatur, Alabama. Her family is touched by how well the staff took care of her and for all the help and comfort Hospice of the Valley gave to our mom during her time there. She will be deeply missed by her family and everyone who knew her.
Preceding her in death were her parents; Rayburn and Ruth Gaston, and her brother; Ray Gaston, all of Mount Hope, Alabama.
Survivors include;
her Husband – Charles William Sanford
Daughters – Sandy Standridge (Terry),
Cindy Ulrich (Joe) and
Charlice LaFavor (Willie)
Grandchildren – George Ulrich,
Russell Standridge (Kalee), and
Andy LaFavor (Hannah)
Great Grandchildren – Conner Ulrich and
Sadie Standridge.
Four Nieces – LaShun Daniel, Sharon Holyoak, Tammy Sanford, and Lisa Sanford, and one Nephew – Shane Gaston
Pallbearers will be Jon Anderson, Andy LaFavor, Conner Ulrich, Brent Eaton, Russell Standridge, and Jeff Woodruff.
In lieu of flowers, family requests memorial donations be made to Hospice of the Valley.
